Growise, a provider of innovative smart farm technology solutions, announced that it has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with World Bridge Al Saudiya Company Ltd., a Saudi-based infrastructure construction and engineering firm, to formally accelerate its entry into the Middle Eastern smart farm market.
This collaboration was made possible through a partnership with "World Bridge Al Saudiya," the local subsidiary of World Bridge Industry Co., Ltd., which holds the record for the world's largest aluminum dome construction. By leveraging World Bridge's existing infrastructure, the partnership immediately resolves the challenges of securing local sites and navigating licensing procedures—traditionally the biggest obstacles for Korean companies entering the Middle East. This secures an overwhelming market advantage by drastically reducing the lead time from "groundbreaking to production."
Through this MOU, the two companies will co-develop a "Saudi-style Smart Farm Standard Model" by integrating their respective expertise. World Bridge Al Saudiya will be responsible for providing facilities for smart farm operations, establishing water and power infrastructure, handling local laws and permits, and securing sales networks. It will support stable business operations based on its extensive experience executing local projects for the National Water Company (NWC) and Aramco in Saudi Arabia.
Growise will provide core technologies, including smart farm design/construction and equipment supply, data-driven decision support systems, generative AI cultivation solutions, and crop-specific cultivation techniques and operational know-how. By combining technology and infrastructure, the two companies plan to implement a "locally-integrated smart farm model" that minimizes initial setup costs and verification periods.
The primary crops for cultivation will be leafy greens and strawberries, considering the characteristics of the Saudi market, which is highly dependent on imported fresh produce due to its hot and arid climate. The goal is to stably produce and supply high-quality agricultural products locally while reducing water consumption through AI-based precision control technology.
As the Saudi Arabian government actively promotes food security and the adoption of advanced agriculture through "Saudi Vision 2030," this collaboration is drawing attention as a prime example of integrating local infrastructure with K-smart farm technology.
A representative from Growise stated, "By utilizing local factories and infrastructure, we are now able to significantly accelerate the speed of technical verification and commercialization. Based on our AI cultivation solutions, we will demonstrate the competitiveness of K-smart farms by supplying high-quality produce across Saudi Arabia." World Bridge Al Saudiya added, "We will actively cooperate to ensure the technology takes root stably, based on our local construction experience and government networks."
Immediately following the signing of the agreement, the two companies formed a joint task force (TF) and began building a testbed for Proof of Concept (PoC) at the local World Bridge factory. Based on the results of the PoC, they plan to expand into commercial production facilities and develop a smart farm export model that can be scaled across GCC countries, including Qatar and the UAE.
