Growise, a smart farm solution provider, announced that it has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with World Bridge Al Saudiya Company Ltd. to enter the Middle Eastern smart farm market. World Bridge Al Saudiya is the Saudi Arabian subsidiary of World Bridge Industry Co., Ltd., which holds the record for the world’s largest aluminum dome construction.
Through this MOU, the two companies will introduce a "Saudi-style Smart Farm Standard Model" by combining their respective areas of expertise. Leveraging its local factory in Saudi Arabia, World Bridge Al Saudiya will be responsible for △providing architectural space (facilities), △establishing water and power infrastructure, △handling local laws and licensing, and △securing a local sales network.
Growise will provide the "brain and heart" of the smart farm, including △smart farm construction processes and equipment, △data-driven decision support systems, △generative AI cultivation solutions, and △specialized cultivation techniques and operational know-how.
The primary crops to be cultivated locally are leafy greens (lettuce, kale, etc.) and strawberries. Due to its climate, Saudi Arabia has a low self-sufficiency rate for fresh vegetables and high-quality fruits, relying heavily on imports. Growise plans to produce and supply high-quality strawberries and fresh vegetables directly in the region using AI precision control technology to minimize water consumption.
The Saudi Arabian government is actively promoting food security and the integration of agriculture into smart cities as part of its "Saudi Vision 2030." This collaboration—combining World Bridge’s extensive local infrastructure experience with Growise’s innovative technology—is drawing attention as a concrete example of the "sustainable advanced agriculture" envisioned by the Saudi government.
A representative from Growise stated, "Thanks to the local factory and infrastructure of World Bridge Al Saudiya, we can significantly shorten the technical verification period. We aim to elevate the status of K-Smart Farm by supplying fresh strawberries and vegetables grown with Growise’s hardware solutions, such as our cultivation bed system, and our AI solutions across Saudi Arabia."
World Bridge Al Saudiya remarked, "We will mobilize our accumulated infrastructure construction experience and government networks in Saudi Arabia to ensure Growise’s technology achieves maximum efficiency locally. Our collaboration will be a milestone in the modernization of Saudi agriculture."
Immediately following the signing of the agreement, the two companies formed a joint task force (TF) to begin building a testbed for Proof of Concept (PoC) within the local World Bridge factory. Through this PoC, they plan to secure growth optimization data under Saudi Arabia's extreme climate conditions and unveil the first harvest in the first half of next year. Upon completion of technical verification, the project will be expanded into large-scale commercial production facilities, with plans for joint expansion into neighboring GCC countries such as Qatar and the UAE.
